Shaunak Sen, 2022

Nadeem Shehzad and his younger brother, Mohammad Saud transformed their childhood passion for birds into life-long obsession with rescuing them, especially the black kites that now regularly fall out of the sky in New Delhi. The brothers started a bird hospital in their basement where they have treated over 20,000 birds, most victims of the devastating pollution that is causing deformities or accidents as birds collide into buildings or get entangled by wires they can't see. Winner of Sundance's World Cinema Documentary Grand Jury Prize, this poetic film puts ecological devastation and political unrest alongside the beauty and humanity that have inspired the brothers ongoing mission.

A panel/Q&A featuring Dr. David Flaspohler, Joe Youngman, and Parth Bhatt will follow the film.
