Ceyda Torun, 2016

Meet Gamsiz, Psycho, Rat Catcher, Yellow, Duman, Deniz, and Bengü, some of the many cats who claim Istanbul as their home. These stray cats, so essential to the culture of the city, weave in and out of the lives of humans who have come to care for them—from the restaurant owner who offers his "polite" visitor smoked meats to the fisherman who feeds motherless kittens with syringe-fulls of milk. Charlie Wuppermann's agile cinematography gives us a cat's-eye view, capturing the intricacies of a territorial dispute and the intimacy of shared moments between these furry nomads and their adopted human familiars.

80 min. / US, Turkey (English subtitles)
