Nick Berardini, 2015

In the early 2000s, brothers Tom and Rick Smith revolutionized policing by marketing the Taser to law enforcement agencies. Yet this "safe" alternative to handguns has led to over 500 taser-related deaths. As debates over law enforcement tactics and engineering ethics continue to dominate recent news, Killing Them Safely offers a timely and careful examination of how this came to pass. Filmmaker Nick Berardini will be in attendance.
